What is a DoodleBook?

As an art teacher my students are always asking me how to draw this and how to draw that. This is especially true of the younger students.

I have my share of “How to Draw” style books in the classroom, but many are too complicated for the K-2 students, so I simplify things for them.

One day I had this idea to turn these simplified “How To’s” into a drawing book of my own. I started last summer by beginning a website with this type of content on it, ToonDoodles.com. The website is still under construction, but working with Tim Robertson on the upcoming Macspiration book motivated me to get myself in gear and finish the book.

I actually had enough content to make two books. The first is on ocean creatures called “Aquarium Doodles.” It is now on sale at Lulu.com: http://www.lulu.com/content/698871. The second is still in the works and will be on land and air creatures. The book is available in downloadable format or in print.

If you have younger kids, or you yourself like to draw, check it out!

If any book publishers are out there that might be interested, I’d love to talk to you! Send me an email.
