What did they do to the Sesame Street theme?

My 7 month old loves to watch Sesame Street. We watch old episodes regularly through On Demand and the Sprout channel. I finally decided to record some newer episodes off of PBS and we watched one tonight.

I started the recording, and was disgusted at the opening theme. The theme I remember has been remixed to a more modern theme. My was was just as disgusted. The Sesame Street theme is something you don’t mess with. It is tradition! I wonder what Jim Henson would think.

Next, they’ll been turning the car from Knight Rider into a Mustang! Oh wait…
