US$ 199 everywhere? Not quite

T-Mobilde Germany posted their “new” call plans for the iPhone with the associated cost of the iPhone.

The 8GB iPhone is as affordable as 1 Euro, when you take their most expensive service plan of €86 a month (~ US$ 138). On the cheapest plan the 8GB iPhone is €169.95 or US$ 263.

So a US$ 199 iPhone isn’t there for us all, but I need to be honest, the price above included 19% VAT – this would make the iPhone cost US$ 221 in Germany.

So there is no such thing as a US$ 199 iPhone everywhere, but they are surprisingly and pleasantly close!
