A Monday afternoon, a box showing up on the porch for a new episode of UnBox!
This time around, there is a note of sadness about the package. This is the first yellow DHL package to arrive for an UnBox, on the same day that DHL announced they will cease American domestic delivery. That means whoever delivered this package will be out of a job in a few months time. My well-wishes go out to those DHL workers, and indeed to all the people loosing jobs, I hope you all find a replacement soon.
So what could be in this shinny yellow box? I don’t recognize the return address or company name at all. Let’s grab the box cutter and open this one up!
It’s… A car! Cool, I know what this is! It’s a Road Mice!
Believe it or not (and really, why would I lie?) this Corvette is actually a wireless computer mouse that works on Mac or PC!
From the top, you can see that on the middle of the hood, there is a scroll wheel. The hood itself is also the two Mice buttons! And while I don’t have the time right now to plug this in to my computer to check it out, I simply have to open the package and see what it feels like.
The Road Mice works via RF, sending a signal to a USB dongle that plugs into your computer. Other than looks, it’s really just like any other wireless three-button mouse. (The scroll wheel is a button as well) Well, except this one is a Chevy Corvette!
Some other cool features:
The headlights actually light up (LED blue in color) when you click the mouse buttons. You can also turn the headlight feature on/off via a very tiny switch on the bottom of the mouse/car. It also takes two AAA batteries, which are included. Also included is a six month warranty.
Of course, if you don’t like the Corvette, the Road Mic also comes as a Dodge Charger SRT8, the same but in as a police car model, a Chevy Camaro, or a Ford Mustang GT. In other words, some of the coolest American Muscle Cars on sale today! (Hey, where is my Viper?!?)
Price: $44.95. Would be a cool Christmas or Holiday present for any car and computer lover in your life! And you can buy them online, even using PayPal!
