Days behind and determined to catch up, it’s time for another fun-filled episode of the UnBox!
A decent sized box with CEIVA, who are the inventors of the Connected Digital Photo Frame. So I have a pretty good notion what’s inside the box. Well, because of that and Sam Levin telling me they were going to send a digital photo frame my way.
Nice box! I like the lens-flare effect around the logo. That was done to death a decade ago when Adobe made the effect standard in Photoshop as a filter, but few companies still use that in their logo. Nice to see it so well done here. Makes the box really pop out, as well as the logo itself.
So there it is, the the CEIVAshare.
And a better picture of it.
What this does is simple to understand, but I would imagine not simple to implement. In short, you buy the CEIVAshare, set it up at your parents house, and remotely send them pictures over the internet. You can do this on your computer and, something new, directly from your iPhone with their new iPhone App!
Because I am not reviewing the CEIVAshare right now (look for a review after Macworld Expo when I have the time) I can say only that the frame itself is even better looking in person than these photos make it look. It feels well made, durable, and won’t look out of place on just about any table or mantel.
Included in the box is a modem, so any person with a phone line can use the CEIVAshare. My parents, for example, will probably never own a computer, let along have a WiFi connection in their house. So just tap into their phone line (a phone splitter is included) and viola! I can now send them new pictures every day if I so choose. Of course, you can always buy a WiFi USB dongle for the CEIVAshare as well, for those households who are already computer savvy!
Price: $129.99 – which includes a 1 year PicturePlan
