Today’s special : Hemp ala carte

So last week, I caught in the news that a store down in Commercial Drive in Vancouver
went public that they are actually selling pot. It is amusing to think that apart
from the latte, cafe mocha and raisin bran muffin that is in the menu, you can
see different varieties and flavors of pot.

Coffee of the day : African Safari
blend. Muffin special : Cranberry muffins. Weed of the day : Cannabis voodoo

Part of that news is the police reaction :”…. they don’t have a plan on
how to deal with the cafe. Vancouver police have only just become
aware of the operations because they haven’t had a single complaint. “

So I was already wondering, is this the sign of times? Are we so close into
finally decriminalizing marijuana?.

But before I managed to finish my thought on
that. Yesterday, the police finally acted and raided
the cafe and closed
it down Obviously it is a public spectacle filled by quite a
number of pot activists.

It appears more like he is annoyed that he arrived five minutes too late
in getting his weed than anything else.

My general feeling, it is a matter of time before pot would get decriminalize
in this country. Marijuana for medical purposes in principle is allowed and
the federal government has already been considering it for the past few years.

And together with the same sex marriage legislation that is under deliberation, I know
that the US government is not too happy of their next door neighbor, short
of saying “stop putting ideas in the head of our citizens”. I actually feel
that the reason pot decriminalization is taking so long is because of US threats of closing the
border if that happens.

Now I am all so bummed out.. Does anybody have a pipe? Peace
