I’m just starting to look at Time Machine (TM) and was wondering a few things about it. It seems as though you can’t boot the system from it, so I’m wondering what really should be backed up?
Is there a point in backing up your applications, system folder, or even library folders? Seems like the most significant back up would be of just the Documents folder. If all your photos, music, and movies are on external drives, then they get excluded because TM automatically excludes external drives.
