Yesterday, I published an essay, “Hidden Dimensions,”
over at The Mac Observer. After exploring some of
the positive things Apple is doing with Apple TV
in previous editorials, I took
a look at some of the problems the Apple TV may have gaining
a beachhead in the consumer living room. Here’s the link.
“What Apple Won’t Tell Us About Apple TV”
And just today, Sony announced more details of its Bravia Internet Video Link (BIVL)
which leverages off key Sony strengths and sells for about
the same as the Apple TV. BIVL and other similar devices to come
will make the battle for space in the living room next to the HDTV even more
interesting. It’s not yet a slam dunk for Apple.
This will be a fun battle to watch. Painful but fun.
