This is my first Macworld Conference and Expo since I became switcher and it feels so good to be able to say I’m a member of a very prestigious group. That is, I’m a Mac guy. After using this MacBook for the past few months the power and ease of its operation has finally clued me in as to why so many people have switched from PC to Mac.
After attending this, my second MWCE, and this being the first time I’ve met, in person, some of my cohorts of MyMac.com who were there covering this vast show, something else has taken place in my head and heart. And that is witnessing the love, not just of the machine itself and all the cool things it can do, but of the sharing of ideas and ideals. I’ve come to the conclusion there’s not a more dedicated group of people working toward the common goal of answering and posing questions, not only about computing but about all facets of life.
The staff at MyMac consists of men and women who care. They are all volunteers. In this cynical world that is reason enough for me to want to read their articles. Sincerity and integrity are rare things, but not at MyMac. Starting with the publisher and editor himself, Tim Robertson, you can’t find a more dedicated person anywhere. Tim never “rules” with an iron glove. He just seems to know how to manage without strangling. He started this whole endeavor on a shoestring. I believe that the talented people who have gravitated to him and his site are there because he has offered them a stage on which to show what they can do without any expectations other than “be honest, be yourself, and by all means, have fun.” It’s not easy to manage a site with the scope of MyMac.com but he seems to do it with aplomb.
To all of you out there who read the articles and contribute with comments and suggestions, please keep it up. You’re as much a part of this as anyone on the staff. And to all of the contributing writers and photographers of MyMac.com, I’m honored to be a small part of this excellent team. Thanks to all for your gracious help, and most of all, your good humor.
