More proof, as is anyone with half a brain needed any, that demonstrates the complete contempt that the Bush administration has for international law, the Geneva Convention, and any other humanitarian standards that they find an inconvenience to their own agenda.
It is amazing to me, watching the nightly news, how complacent our media is about these abuses. I know that other writers here have, in the past, pointed out just how soft and lame our “television news” organizations are, but I still feel the need to point it out.
Yesterday, June 21, Michael Moore was on the Today show, and it was so obvious Katie Couric simply detested him. She was smarmy as hell, and was practically sneering at him the entire time. But Moore was brilliant in the five minutes he had, blasting NBC for not doing their job as reporters. “You get to ask any question you want to!” he told Couric, who summarily dismissed Moore by ignoring his pleas for better journalism on the part of NBC.
Yes, I firmly believe our current White House administration is one of the worse in American history, but beyond that, I find it appalling that the main outlet for news in the United States, network news broadcasts, simply ignore or bury stories which show the unconstitutional acts our government is engaged in.
Shame on Couric, Rumsfeld, NBC, and we the people for letting them do whatever they wish without repercussions. I would like to see congressional investigations, impeachments, and public hangings as soon as possible. Okay, maybe not the pubic hangings, I would settle for real investigations.
Meanwhile, he is a GREAT picture I was emailed the other day. Not sure who made it, but here it is.
