The Mystery of the Original Macintosh
So here a mystery for all your Macintosh aficionados and collectors.
MyMac.com podcast listener James has an original 1984 Macintosh. Or does he?
Look at the pictures James sent in below. Note the differences between them and the shipping Macintosh. I have two original Macintosh 128Ks, and they don’t match these pictures. Some differences: on the back of these pictures, you see the Apple logo, but the A in the Apple is a Apple logo. There is also a colored rainbow Apple logo, which is also different than both my original Macs. And lastly, what also jumps out at me, is the Apple logo on the bottom of each of the rubber feet. Not on either of mine!
So what is this machine? Any thoughts? My best guess, which I shared with James, is that this is a pre-production model supplied internally to Apple employees and third-party software developers.
