Swing Shift at MWSF 2009 SF

Swing shift, or graveyard shift?

Macworld Expo on Thursday and Friday settles into a gentle tumult. Company reps are attuned to the chattering masses. Other media staff are mostly gone, giving MyMac an open entré at every booth where we set foot.

We’re past the halfway point in our appointments with companies that provide review items for the rest of the year. We’ll also mix and mingle during dozens of other drop in visits, learning about new products and technologies that are on display at Macworld Expo and NOT at any Apple retail stores.

You’ll be reading and hearing a lot about the future of this conference. Keep cool, stay warm, and go for a walk in the woods while the issues are being addressed. There is a schism between corporate Apple and corporate IDG conference, that the latter hopes to turn into a grand opportunity for users, vendors, resellers, and presenters.

Thursday and Friday are my favorite days at every year’s expo and conference. The pressure is mostly off, yet the energy remains high. People work all year to make this experience valuable, and all of us are the beneficiaries.

MyMac personnel will keep taking photos and videos, doing interviews, hosting contests, and posting commentaries until the final minute of this final ??? amazing Macworld Expo San Francisco. Thanks for sticking with us. We’ll stick with you.
