Here are a few websites that, as Mac users and educated readers, I think you would enjoy visiting if you have not done so already.
Ares Technica
This is a well-written site, which covers about everything I am interested in, from Robots, to Macs, to Digital Cameras. Very knowledgeable people, and very good writers to boot. They seem to link to articles quite a bit on other sites that I almost always find interesting. I visit Ares Technica one a week or more.
ResExcellene
The is THE site to visit if you want to customize your Mac at all. Desktop pictures, OS Themes, Icons, Dock Poofs, you name it, and they cover it. ResExcellene has been around for years, but I am amazed at how many people I show this site to that have never seen it, and fall in love with it immediately. A fun, and educational, site for the custom Mac users. Which is everyone, right?
Dan Gillmor’s Blog
SiliconValley.com has some really good writers, but my favorite is Dan Gilmore. Dan writes about technology, politics, and the change in journalism. He updates his blog two or three times a day, mostly, and always seems to link to the most interesting stories out there. I have found a great many other sites thanks to Dan’s Blog. Dan is so good; I wish he were blogging here!
The Cheating Culture
I found this site thanks to Dan Gillmor, and I enjoy it a lot. Really set up to help sell a book, David Callahan covers the topics of the culture of rewarding cheaters in today’s modern age. His research makes for some very interesting reading, and has a blog post which he updates every week or so. You HAVE to check this one out!
Apple Computer History Weblog
It is easier to simply copy and paste: “The purpose of this site is to collect information to create a first-hand, historical record regarding Apple Computer and Claris Corporation. The information and stories that are collected will be preserved for use by students, scholars, universities, and other non-profit organizations.” Does this sound cool to you? It is, and I think you will enjoy it as much as I do.
Hope you check out and enjoy these five favorite sites of mine as much as I do!
