RapidoSerial

Recently I was finally able to upgrade to a MacPro, and while the process of transferring files and other data to my new Mac was relatively easy, I did have dig around to find registration codes for many of my 3rd Party applications. Though I typically try to keep the registration codes of my purchased applications stored with saved emailed that it was sent in, but it still was a hassle to look up that information.

However, now the developers over at App4Mac has solved the problem storing serial numbers with their new (FREE!) little application aptly called RapidoSerial.

Now, it would be quite easy to just develop some sort of Excel database to store registration/serial codes and related information, but I prefer something with a little more visual design, and that’s exactly the beauty of RapdioSerial.

The developers have made it incredibly easy to add applications to

RapidoSerial. You can either add all your applications at one time or you can add them manually. Simply dragging an application to RapidoSerial will automatically include the version number, company, and website for each added application. I was hoping that somehow RapidoSerial would retrieve the stored serial number of an application automatically, but that’s not the case. You have to copy and paste or type it in, which really if you think about it is no big deal if you learn to use RapidoSerial each time you add application to your computer.

The purchase date for the application comes up as the current date, so you will need to, if you prefer, manually change the date for old application purchases.

There’s also a Print feature in RapidoSerial, but for some reason it prints data for only a single selected application at a time. There should be an option to print out a list of stored data for all applications. Don’t get me wrong, this print feature is also classy. It prints the data and the application’s icon, which shows again that App4Mac is seriously focused on making their applications very visually oriented–the way computer programs should be.

As a side note, be sure to click Save after entering data for each application. The application doesn’t automatically save added information.

When you head over to App4Mac, you’ll see several other applications that have been well designed with a visual focus. They offer four free applications and a half a dozen other useful apps for business and home use.

There’s sure to be lots more coming from this company. They’re well worth keeping an eye on and checking out.
