Photoshop CS Installation Bugs & Slugs

When you install Photoshop CS onto your new Panther machine you may encounter two really annoying glitches.

1 = FONT FIASCO

If CS quits unexpectedly and halts the installation process you’ll need to turn off all your X and Classic fonts before the Photoshop installer will work. I’m not kidding! Once CS is up and running you can then reactivate your pre-existing fonts.

2 = VERSION 5.5 MINIMUM

CS upgrade installer insists you have Photoshop 5.5 or later, but on the upgrade box any and every version through Photoshop 7 is welcome. Can you believe what you just read? Call Adobe installation tech support (yes, there really is such a thing) for specific instructions on upgrading from versions prior to 5.5.

I’ll try to give detailed info, especially on the font procedure, but if you can add anything in the Article Discussion area below, our readers will be appreciative.

Have not actually used Photoshop CS yet, for a couple of reasons. Hoping to have it operative soon. How’s it working for you? Problems? Praises?

Thanks from Nemo.
