Observations for the week

Podcast listener Kerry Sanders wrote in about my complaining last week regarding Safari 3. I think it is slow and buggy. Kerry agreed, and suggested I try out the latest Beta of Firefox 3. I am glad I did! So far so good. Seems stable, much more Mac-like, and VERY fast. I wish I had remembered to mention it on THIS weeks show!

I hate it when people don’t email you back on a timely basis. I send out an email, and weeks later I get a response. By that time, I have to go back to my email and figure out WHAT I was emailing them about.

Not that I am any better at times. But to be honest, I do get a LOT of email.

I think Ars Technica is one of the top tech website in the world. Seriously. If you are not reading Ars, you really should. When I grow up, I wanna be just like them.

John Gruber has a lot of nerve. He is too good a writer. Where does he get off being such a good writer? There are a lot of people in the world that deserve his talent. How the heck did he end up with it? He’s so good, it almost pisses me off sometimes. Hey, John, how about a crappy post every now and then so we know you’re not a writing robot or something? And stop hogging all the interesting topics already!

The new web browser in the Mac AOL client is REALLY fast. Seriously, I am impressed. Nice job Lee and all the AOL people.

Thanks, American Auto Makers, for fighting so hard against tough fuel economy laws. Your special interest tactics in Washington and the states have really helped Americans out. Glad most new cars get less miles per gallon than new cars in the 1980s.

Hillary Clinton has already tried to play the race card against Obama. Wonder how long after Hilary finally drops out (once she makes sure Obama is damaged goods that is, so she can run in four years) until the GOP starts to play the race card. I give it ten minutes.

Found out today that I have two nephews in Iraq right now. I am worried about them.

I hope Julie, Stan Flacks sister, works out what to do with MacMinute soon, before all their readers forget about the site and don’t come back.
