Apple is calling together members of the press to do a special showing of the new Apple iPhone 3.0 release of its iPhone OS. If released on time, this means Apple will have released a new OS for its phone every year since the introduction, which puts a lot of pressure on competing phone makes to keep up. Apple is again setting the pace on mobile devices. Not only do they have everyone racing to catch up with Applications stores for their phones, but they are setting the bar quite high for new updates and releases to the phone’s OS and capabilities again.
Maybe other phone manufactures should pay closer attention to Apple’s methods. One phone format, one OS, and all devices work the same. Other phone manufactures have so many different phones and OS choices as to make their own update plans just too confusing.
I have no idea yet what Apple will show in the new 3.0 release, but if it follows the previous improvements, one can expect some cool new features.
