New Games for the iPod!

As you probably know, one of the additions to the iTunes store yesterday was a group of games for the 5G iPod. There are the addicting puzzle type games, the old school arcade games, and then you have Poker and Mini Golf.

These aren’t the high graphic intense games of today’s consoles, but they are the kind of games I like to play (and I don’t own a GameBoy or PSP). Plus, they seem to be perfect for the click wheel.

Last night, I decided to take a chance and download Pac-Man. I wasn’t expecting too much, just your standard Pac-Man game. To my surprise. the game looks a lot better than I expected. In fact, it looks great on the iPod. It plays great, too. The graphics are sharp and crisp, and the color is fantastic!

After seeing this first batch of games, it makes me wonder what could be next? A racing game would work nicely with the click wheel. Of course, there is the entire collection of Pac-Man games. On that note, many of the Namco Classics (Galaxian, Galaga, etc.) would work great. I could even see a real golf game down the road (Tiger Woods on your iPod?).

It will be interesting to see where this goes. For now, I have to figure out which game to get next!

By the way, I did have to reauthorize my computer to get the game onto the iPod. A stupid annoyance.
