Nemo’s Stevenote 2009 Wish List

Nemo’s Stevenote 2009 Wish List

Four favorites from the future?

1. Dump AT&T.

Allow iPhones to be used on any network in any country. Customers can choose phone companies whose reception and customer support are good.

(This one is for my daughter in Chicago. She can’t make or receive iPhone calls from her apartment, without hanging dangerously out the window.)

2. iPhone nano.

Sell a smaller iPhone, with lower purchase price and monthly fee. Also see number 1 above.

(This one is for me, and for every teenager in the world. I don’t need mobile phone and data services enough to justify having an iPhone, although I can afford it. Occasional use will suit me perfectly. Teenagers and their parents are currently paying too much of their family budgets for smartphones. Apple will grab a windfall with a nano iPhone.)

3. Mac mini + Apple TV.

It came to me in a dream. Combine these two moderately-successful hardware devices into one, and dominate the media-centric family room, for under $1,000.

(This one is for Tim Robertson, because he needs a new streaming multi-digi-toy to rant and rave about.)

4. Tablet Mac. Finally!

Intel is releasing one, and Apple needs to deliver a knockout punch to the competition sooner than later. Own this market, Steve. Announce it at Macworld 2009, and have it in stores in the spring.

(This one is for Roger Born, who has been clamoring for a touch screen small-format Macintosh for years.)

MyMac Magazine is not a rumor site. If I had to predict the probability of wishes becoming reality, I’d vote for reverse order: 4, 3, 2, 1. See you at Moscone Center, when all or some of these wish list items are announced.
