Last night just before 3:30 I awoke and it was cold in my bedroom, so I tossed on another blanket. I could hear wind and tree branches thrashing outside.
Starting to feel a little warmer, suddenly there was a GHURRMMMP sound, and the whole building did a little shimmy-shimmy-koko-bop, followed by a light wop-baba-looba. I had experienced this before, and it was a mild earthquake.
Warm now in bed, and not too frightened, I felt minor aftershocks during the next ten minutes, and eventually fell back asleep. Now, at 6:15 a.m., it’s still very windy, but otherwise the ground is where it’s supposed to be.
Yesterday was outstanding at Macworld Expo San Francisco 2007, and in three hours and forty-five minutes the doors will open for the final day of the show.
Long live Macworld Expo, MyMac.com, and the earth below this rockin’ and rollin’ city.
