My One Complaint With The New iTunes Store

The new iTunes Store no longer has a shopping cart option. I just went to buy an app (which never had the ability to store in a shopping cart) and I was warned that the shopping cart no longer existed and clicking “Buy” would purchase the item.

I don’t know how popular the shopping cart was, but I used it all of the time. I would store things in the cart that I wasn’t sure about buying, but didn’t want hunt down in the store when I decided to buy it.

There is a small consolation to the cart. There is now a wish list. You can add items to your wish list buy clicking the arrow one the side of the “Buy” button. This will pull up a drop down menu where you can add something to your wish list. Plus, my old shopping cart has been converted to my Wish List.

My problem with the wish list is that it is hard to find. In fact it is almost hidden at the bottom of the iTunes Store window. If you scroll down and look under “My Account” you will find a link to your wish list.

You’ll probably say it is hidden away so that more people just click the “Buy” button on impulse and there will be more purchases made. Maybe, but I like being able to think about a potential purchase most of the time.

How about a button at the top of the page to make it easier to get to? or how about this idea- Bring back the shopping cart option!
