Ignore the “Mad Props” part, I know it sounds, erm, stupid, but I wanted to write “mad props” so sue me.
In any event I got my iBook back from Applecare today, it is fixed as far as I can tell. I can’t be sure because once again the folks in Memphis (that’s where my computer vacations) neglected to return the power adapter. That means, of course, another call to AppleCare. And that’s where the AppleCare goodness comes in.
In the time I’ve had my iBook I called the AppleCare support line many times (seems like a million). I suppose I’ve always talked to a different person but they have been, if not always helpful, unfailingly polite and easy to work with. I appreciate that, it’s not an easy thing to remain calm after troubleshooting computers over the phone all day but somehow the fine folks on the other end of the phone manage to do just that. Add to that they aren’t the ones that fix/engineer your computer and you should have some extra appreciation. After all the phone folks are the ones who feel your wrath when something goes wrong or isn’t fixed the first time though they had nothing to do with the creation of the problem.
I didn’t get a thing free, no new iBook, no iPod no nothing, so this is heartfelt: I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to all the phone support people at AppleCare. As far as the fix it guys in Memphis go…
