Macworld Post: No Live Keynote

Okay, so this has been posted on a lot of websites now, but Apple has decided not to broadcast the keynote via QuickTime this year, the first time they have done so in years. At a time when the technology to produce and broadcast a QuickTime stream is at an all-time low, at an event in which Apple showcases their latest technology and innovation, one has to wonder why Apple would make such a move.

I am not too upset; there are many, many websites that post up-to-the-minute details of the keynote from the showroom floor. (MacMinute in particular has been spectacular in this regard the last few years.) Still and all, I look at this as a step back for Apple, perhaps even some sour grapes for all the rumors that have been going around as of late. The only people who watched the event via the live QuickTime broadcast are Apple fans, and this is a huge slap in the face. Is this Apple showing their distain for their own customers? Is this simply a pissed-off Steve Jobs’ doing? Or is it simply Apple trying to save some money?

You decide. I have made up my mind on this. But thanks, Apple, you make is so EASY to remain a loyal customer with moves like this.
