A posting on the Macintosh News Network (MacNN.com) describes some interesting goings-on by the folks who run the huge Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, which, this year, ran at the same time as the Macworld Expo.
What the story stated was that CES will be setting up an Apple-specific exhibit area at the January 2010 show. The story went on to say that rumors are circulating that Apple might have a physical presence at that CES show, in spite of previous statements to the effect that they didn’t need trade shows to show their wares.
If this turns out to be true, more vendors might take a “pass” on Macworld Expo 2010 and maybe set up shop in Las Vegas. Already there have been many reports, some heard on the MyMac.com podcasts from last week’s Macworld Expo, that a number of vendors are not planning to attend the 2010 gathering in San Francisco. Some cited deteriorating economic conditions, while others expressed their concern that without Apple’s official presence, attendance could go into a freefall.
The company that runs the Macworld Expo shows, International Data Group (IDG), has stated there will be a Macworld Expo in 2010 and is already accepting exhibitor reservations for next year’s show.
