So far, so good.
There are three price levels, $0.69, $0.99, and $1.29 per song. “iTunes Plus” is apparently the DRM-free side of the aisle, and Apple anticipates having over 10 million DRM-free songs by the end of this quarter. The promise is that most of these cuts will be at the low-priced end of the spectrum.
Ah, the iPhone: the music store will now be available on 3G. Buy music on your phone, sync back to your computer. This service starts today.
All right, here’s the bottom line:
1. New iLife and iWork suites, along with a great bundle including Leopard
2. iWork.com beta for document sharing
3. New unibody 17″ MacBook Pro with matte screen option and revolutionary eight-hour battery
4. DRM-free songs at iTunes Plus with more pricing options
The only new hardware is the big MacBook Pro. No iMacs, no nano-anythings. Whew!
Please keep returning to MyMac.com over the rest of the day and all through the week for more in-depth reviews and analysis of these developments and a whole lot more. It’s going to be a wild next few days…
