This morning I saw my first iPhone news story on Good Morning America. Can we call that the official kickoff to iPhone week?
If you are already sick of all the iPhone hype, you might want to move to a deserted island for the next two weeks. You may not even be able to escape it there!
First we’ll have all of the stories leading up to the release of the iPhone. Then Friday will be iPhone, iPhone, and more iPhone. Then after that we’ll get all the reviews. There will be the good ones, the bad ones, the Apple bashing ones, and those that are by people that think Apple can do no wrong.
Let’s not forget the pictures of unpacking the iPhone, taking apart the iPhone, and there will probably the site with pictures and video of people destroying an iPhone.
Personally, I’ve had enough already. Sure it looks like a cool product, and I hope it lives up to the hype and is a huge success. Maybe it is because I have no intention of buying an iPhone, or maybe it is because I see the RSS feeds from different Apple news/rumor sites and I’ve seen the same stories over and over again.
Maybe it is because I’d like to see an actual new product announcement from Apple that I can go out and buy. What have we had since Macworld? Well, there are those colored shuffles.
Hopefully, once the iPhone release has come and gone Apple will move on to something else. If I remember correctly, at Macworld Steve Jobs said Apple had a lot of exciting products coming this year. Well, the year is almost half over, and I’m still waiting.
So, let’s brace for the iPhone storm that is coming, and then let’s get excited for what is coming next.
