iTouch out of touch in Europe

How does iPod Touch work in Europe for email or web access? Nemo’s pal Jay tells the story.

Hello John.

Communicating via WIFI from Italy was a bust. Firstly there were very few WIFI points that were free. In fact only two in Florence and I was never successful in logging on from either.

At the hotel the last three days in Florence we could buy access time at the same cost as for the hotel’s computer and since that computer had a standard keyboard lt was faster and cheaper to use that one. Even at the Frankfurt airport there was no free WIFI.

Back stateside it’s much better. At the hotel where we are staying in Austin, there is WIFI access for a one time charge of $4.99. Even at the Tucson airport there is free access.

The iPod Touch is great, but the better option in Italy and in the Frankfurt airport is to use one of the many Internet points.

Ciao, Jay
