When my boss told me that I had to attend a meeting in Ann Arbor this week I knew that I would buy an iPod with video.
While looking around a mall I ended up in Sears and they had a massive ZUNE display, lots of iPod accessories, but no iPods on display. So I went to the customer service desk and asked and well they have them in store, but keep them behind the counter.
Are iPods items you have to keep behind a counter? I don’t think so! I wonder how much Microsoft is paying Sears and other stores to promote the Zune…
Anyway there is going to be an Apple Store in that Mall soon, so potential shoppers will not have a hard time to find an iPod. And what will I be doing?
Well, rather than buy the iPod at Sears I shall buy it at Radio Shack. I am not going to reward them for a biased marketing approach…
Have you come across other stores that clearly favor the Zune over the iPod? Any ideas why that is?
