If you haven’t heard yet, Apple.com has a new look. It is about time, as far as I am concerned. I like the new look. It has the iTunes feel, which it appears as if Apple is using a lot these days.
Anyway, one thing that is missing from the new redesign is a .Mac tab. .Mac is still accessible by going to www.mac.com, but there is no direct link on the homepage (at least none I can find). As a matter of fact, there is no direct Quicktime link either, but that is not the topic of this blog.
However, if you explore the new Apple website and then go to .Mac you might notice something. I did. While every other section of Apple.com (at least those I visited) have been updated to the new design, the .Mac pages have not. Only the top of the pages have changed, but the heart of the pages do not fit into the redesign. In fact, they look awkward and out of place.
Did someone forget to flip the switch on the .Mac redesign? Probably not. More likely, it is awaiting the upgrade that everyone has been waiting for and that Steve Jobs has hinted at.
I can’t imagine Apple and Jobs would let the .Mac section of the site be this eyesore for too long.
Hopefully, the update is right around the corner along with some new Apple products. When was the last time we got some REAL Apple product announcements? I’m still waiting for the Apple Special Event that many people thought was coming after Macworld.
Yes, Leopard does look amazing. The features look great, but how about iWork and iLife? or something? Even preorder of Leopard would be a start! I would settle for the .Mac upgrade. and peak at iLife and iWork.
Anyway, I am getting off topic. Leave your thoughts below.
