I missed an episode of Journeyman last night, and I didn’t record. I could have bought it in iTunes (yes, it is still available), but instead I decided to try to watch it through HULU.com. I did get access to the site via the beta program, and I figured I might as well try it.
All I have heard about HULU is bad things. The quality is bad, the site is bad, everything is just plain bad. Well, I didn’t think it was that bad.
I logged in, went to Journeyman, picked the most recent episode, and watched. There were about 5 or 6 30 second commercials while I watched. The entire experience was just like when I watched a Heroes episode through the NBC website.
The only download issues were during one of the commercials. The show ran smoothly.
Was it HD quality? No.
Was it exportable from the computer? No.
Was it free? Yes.
Was it easy? Yes.
It wasn’t perfect, but it was good enough for me. I was able to watch the episode I missed, and all I had to do was watch a few commercials.
Would I do this on a regular basis? Probably not, but it does serve a purpose, and I would use the site again if I found the need.
That’s my two cents worth. You can leave yours below.
