In a very cool, cutting edge ad, 20 teens who were sued by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for downloading music will appear in Pepsi’s upcoming Super Bowl ad launching the 100 million song iTunes promotion on February 1st.
The ad identifies “a few of the kids sued for downloading music free off the Internet.”
Annie Leith, the 14-year-old who was sued by the RIAA, appears with other downloaders in the ad, played to the tune of the hit “I Fought the Law” (1966 Bobby Fuller Four performed by Green Day).
In the ad, Annie holds up a Pepsi and says: “We are still going to download music for free off the Internet.”
When the announcer asks how, the answer is, “Announcing the Pepsi iTunes Giveaway.”
