Great actor, John Spencer, died

John Spencer, Leo McGarry on West Wing, died today

A week ago, I wrote how it was a real sad day that Richard Pryor had died. Today, another one of my favorite entertainers has passed away.

John Spencer played Leo McGarry, a unique character full of honor and integrity. This is a character I enjoyed very much, full of real life failings and tragedy. This, to me, was one of the most “real” characters on television, and I was simply amazed at how well John Spencer pulled it off. Not every actor could have played such a complex roll as well a he had done.

My condolences to his friends and family. As a fan, I will miss seeing him every week. John was not as famous an actor as a big movie star, but for those who enjoy being entertained by great actors, very few are in John Spencer’s class.
