Amid rumors that Apple will introduce a Special Edition red-colored iPod nano on Friday as part of Bono’s “Product Red” campaign to fight AIDS, the white illuminated Apple logo hanging inside the glass cube over Apple’s Fifth Avenue retail store is now glowing red. Since I just happen to be in New York City to cover Digital Life this week, I had the good fortune to snap the following photos of the new-red logo Thursday evening, from inside and outside the store:

When I asked him, the Apple employee standing outside the glass cube stated that he was unaware of why the Apple logo had been turned red, and the scene inside the store showed no hint of anything forthcoming.
