Tuesday was a hard day, and I hoped Wednesday would be easier. It was not. It was a very full day, so lets have a look:
I missed my train coming into the city so I ran to make a 10 AM meeting with HP. They have some interesting new products, and we will cover them soon in product reviews. But here were a few that really interested me:
A cool new inkjet printer from HP that includes a tray for printing directly into DVDs.
HP also introduced a new media server. Basically a smart Network Attached Storage (NAS) this device includes server software for iTunes, and serves up video, audio, pictures, and other media. I hope to review this soon.
While hard to see in a picture here, this was HP’s new LCD color reference monitor. An amazing display for an LCD display, and a must if you do color digital printing or art.
Mark Dwight of the new Rickshaw Bags company. Known for his great bags at Timbuktu, he now has his own company and makes an amazing bag. Check them out.
Later that day was the MyMac contest at the Speck cases booth. Great people, and the contest was fantastic. Here are some pictures from that first day of the contest:
Thanks to Mark for shooting other pictures you have seen elsewhere.
The rest of the day was spent in the media room working on pics and the Podcast with Tim.
And now on to Thursday, the first day I would really have a chance to just walk the show.
G drives has some very cool products. We should be covering some of them soon.
On to the Verbatim booth for some new products.
The Verbatim both had some very interesting stuff, and Tim spotted a keyboard that was very cool Blue back light, built in speakers, and controls for your media too.
John thought it was cool too, as did I. Tim should be reviewing this soon.
AOL is back in the Mac, and back with it’s old logo too.
Comply headphones. We got to meet the woman on their posters.
Dictate from MacSpeech. This software claims to let you talk to your Mac and stop typing. Interesting, but I saw so many errors while they were demoing it, where it should be behaving, just how well will it work for you and me?
Some of the coolest games for iPhone and iPod Touch could be seen in the Freeverse booth. My favorite was Days of Thunder, a new racing game based on the popular motion picture, and is being developed for Paramount Digital Entertainment. Very fun.
John checking out the products at Fuze
OK, this may be boring to many, but this was some very interesting work flow management software from Orbicule.
Again, in the boring area for some, Merlin Project Management software finally makes needing Microsoft Project unnecessary, and puts a PM software package on the Mac that puts Project to shame.
Roxio has a 2 new versions of Toast, Toast 10, and Toast 10 Pro that you will here a lot about later.
And finally, towards the end of the day on Thursday was the second day of the contest. This time at the Prosoft booth. We were ready to start on time, but unfortunately, a special guest at the booth next to us went on for a lot longer than they planned, and we had to wait. Here is what we waited for:
But finally, the contest got underway. Sadly, the Prosoft booth was way in the back corner of one hall, and it was much harder to attract people to the booth.
Ok, now I was exhausted! Four long days, and just one more to go. I will post Friday soon.
