Eighty-five percent of Apple Stores still have iPhone in stock

According to Apple’s self-reporting on its own website, as of 9:00 pm PST on Saturday June 30th, more than eighty-five percent of the company’s 160-plus retail location in the United States currently have iPhone units in stock. The only States with one or more stores reporting that they’re currently out of iPhones are California, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, and Texas.

Availability is by far the worst in California, with half of the State’s thirty-six Apple Stores currently reporting that they are without iPhone stock, including its flagship store in San Francisco (although The Grove in Los Angeles is showing stock). All other States with Apple Stores are showing availability at all locations, however it should be pointed out that some States such as North Dakota simply don’t have any Apple Stores within their borders.

Apple is only making these reports available between 9pm and 9am, presumably due to the impracticality of keeping them updated accurately while the stores are open for business during the daytime. Due to the likelihood that more stock will arrive prior to Sunday’s openings, we strongly suggest you check Apple’s list for yourself before heading out iPhone-hunting in the morning, or better yet, call ahead before leaving the house.
