Does anyone know how to print through an Airport Express through Windows Vista???

I’ve been searching high and low for a solution to the problem below. I’ve asked the MyMac.com staff, I’ve posted and search Apple’s discussions, I’ve posted and searched Microsoft’s discussions, and I’ve searched the internet. No solution.

I thought I’d give it one more try here at MyMac.com’s blogs to see if a reader has a solution.

So here’s the problem:

My wife has a Dell laptop running Windows Vista. I have an Airport Express that I want to set up with a Canon printer so that she can print wirelessly. I’ve tried going through Bonjour for Windows, and I’ve tried setting up using the directions for Windows XP. No luck. The most I get is one test page, and nothing after that.

Apple’s website says printing only works with XP and 2000, but I am guessing that someone out there has figured out a solution to the problem.

The only thing that I have been able to get working is setting up the printer through her old XP desktop. Then I shared the printer with the Vista machine. The printer actually prints from the Vista machine to the printer connected to the Express as an XP shared printer! Follow that?

This is great, except 1. We have to leave the XP machine on all of the time, and 2. We were planning on getting rid of the XP machine. Now we can’t. Well, we can, but not if we want the Vista machine to print wirelessly.

So, if anyone has any suggestions (besides installing XP on the laptop or getting a Mac for my wife- she won’t, which is why she’s stuck with Vista) please post them below.

Thanks!
