Day Three (Tuesday)
Day two started off in the media room preparing for the deluge of information following the Philnote. It was here that I met another cracked crack member of the MyMac staff, Artie Alinikoff. Artie, Guy, and myself setup shop at one of the tables frantically refreshing the various blogs of the Philnote.
Once the Philnote was finished, John Nemo and Tim made their way back to the media room where we subsequently recorded a post Philnote podcast. We had a great time recounting all of the great Apple introductions of the day. iLife, iWork 09, Unibody MacBook Pro 17”, Multi tier pricing for music in the iTunes Music Store.
During the course of the afternoon, we did many interview segments for the upcoming podcasts, one particularly interesting interview was with a young entrepreneur named Daniel Brusilovsky. At the age of sixteen, this young man has made a huge splash in the tech space. He is the prototype of the future of tech.
Day Four (Wednesday)
Wednesday morning started off in the media room planning out the days activities. Following our planning session, we would take some staff pictures and then head out to the floor to interview some regular expo attenders in order to gauge the feeling on the floor.
Wednesday afternoon brought the MyMac.com Apple Quiz at the Speck booth. What a resounding success! At one point there seemed to be at least a hundred people gathered around the booth shouting out answers trying to help the contestants win. As Master of Ceremonies, Tim was funny, engaging, and professional.
I really enjoyed interviewing Andy Taylor from MacSpeech and Andreas Haas from Axiortron. Both men were articulate and relaxed as they described their new products. Interacting with the principles of these companies is really one of the great aspects of Macworld.
Before the media room was closed for the day, we recorded a quick podcast covering the days activities.
Later that evening, Tim and I attended the podcaster meet-up hosted by Adam Christensen of the MacCast. It was a good time for podcasters to discuss many topics relevant to this emerging media.
Day Five (Thursday)
My last day at Macworld began with walking the floor to get some pictures highlighting many of the diverse products at this year’s expo. Of course some things on the show floor are not for sale, but rather, for the COOL FACTOR.
The afternoon brought another round of the MyMac Apple Quiz. This time the quiz was sponsored by our friends at Prosoft Engineering Inc. Once again, everyone had a great time and many great Prosoft and Joesoft products were won by the contestants.
Sadly, the day and my time at Macworld came to an end with Thursday’s podcast. As I sat in the podcast booth recounting the days activities, I reflected back over the wonderful experience this had been. “How lucky,” I thought, “to be a part of this family of such talented, kind, cool, and funny people.”
On the way home Friday morning, I received a call from Tim. He just wanted to thank me for being at Macworld this year and for my contribution. As I hung up with Tim, I thought to myself, “No, THANK YOU, Tim and all my new MyMac family members.”
