Cold? Who’s Cold??

What the hey, it’s only six below zero. SIX BELOW ZERO??? Yup, surprised me too. I’m posting this at just after 3:00 a.m. Mountain Time, and there’s plenty of snow on the ground. At least there was the last time I walked outside to grab a couple more chunks of firewood for the trusty Ashley woodstove, bless its little heart. With that thing cranking out the BTUs, I had no idea it was anywhere near that cold outside. Walking on the snow is really noisy at that temperature, too, sounds like running your fingers across a balloon.

But that’s not why I’ve called this meeting. I have a new edition of GRACK! to promote, and here’s the blurb:

[GRACK!] Open Secret

“There wasn’’t any way I was going to be late for Bo Diddley down in Santa Fe, so I let ‘er rip going through the canyon. Once the Ford got up to 70 or 75, it could maintain that speed on most upgrades, so keeping up the pace was critical. There was hardly any traffic, and what there was I passed. Española slowed me down, and the construction zone coming into town was a bitch, but I rolled into the parking garage on San Francisco Street in record time and nobody died.”
