Take Control of Preview – Book Review

Once again, TidBITS hits it out of the park with their latest book, Take Control of Preview. Preview is an application that has been on the Mac since OS10 was released in 2001, but has been overlooked over the years and considered a not very useful app other than opening a PDF or viewing a photo. Josh Centers and Adam Engst wrote Take Control of Preview to change that perception.

NEC MultiSync E245WMi 24″ Widescreen Monitor – Review

To paraphrase an old adage: One cannot be too rich, too thin, or have too much screen real estate. This is especially true for me when working in multiple applications with many windows and tool palettes. The benefits of working with a second monitor became apparent as soon as the NEC 24″ Widescreen Monitor came to life when connected to my MacBook Pro.

Newertech NuPower Mac Laptop Batteries – Review

I chose to review the white non unibody 13″ MacBook battery, because I had a suitable MacBook, now used by my daughter, in need of a replacement battery. I am confident that what applies to the battery I reviewed will apply across the board to all of their other batteries. ThinkTank Airport Roller Derby – Review

There are several rolling suitcase-like camera packs on the market, but I’ve yet to see one that can match the Airport Roller Derby for smoothness and durability. The pack is slim enough to roll through the aisle in an airplane and will easily fit into most overhead compartments. Unlike a similar ThinkTank product I reviewed about 18 months ago, this one comes with four dual wheel sets instead of single wheels. These wheels are so responsive you can move this pack, fully loaded, with one finger.
