Aptly named the iLine Mobile Music Cable Kit, the cables provide musicians and audiophiles with nearly every possible cable to connect your iOS devices to speakers, headphones, stereos, amplifiers, or your vehicle. I promise’”next big bonus (yes, business at my employer’s has improved to the point that we’re seeing bonuses again, and if this first small one is any indication, the next one should get me real close to a new Retina Display iPad). I will not do another electronic book review until I get an iPad!

Its lithium-ion battery is charged with an included micro-USB to USB cable when attached to your computer. A hidden pull-out shelf serves as a convenient vertical or horizontal iPhone stand. The speaker works well with an iPad but becomes too top-heavy to be practical when used with the stand.

It’s a simple device: two 3.5mm audio plugs at either end of a thin, flat cable. The feature that makes this different from a plain cable is a spring-loaded spool in the middle. Pull both ends and the cable extends from a few inches to nearly three feet in length. There are stops along the way so this cable can be adjusted to whatever length fits your car and your needs.

Read MoreOne of the greatest assets to any iOS device is the ability to listen to your favorite music, audiobooks, or your favorite apps. There is nothing more annoying than trying to do so with earphones that simply ruin the experience with their shoddy qualities. Most of us aren’t in the market for expensive earphones that can cost over $200, so what’s out there for those of us who want to find a balance between sound quality and cost? V-Moda and Arctic each have earphones in their lineups that try to reach such a balance. How do they compare?

And though Apple wouldn’t openly admit it, the camera on the nano was nothing to brag about. Compare it to even an older Flip Mino and you’d probably never use the nano camera again.

I’ve been lucky enough to give the SportShell Convertible for iPod Nano 5G and the Marware EcoRunner a really good workout.
The NAJA is a soft flexible coil with a bracket at the top to hold your iPod nano. The idea is to use the NAJA to hold your nano rather than hold your nano in your hand. I guess. I’m not really sure? The crux of the problem with the NAJA – it falls over, a lot.
There I was, in the conference room setting up for a presentation. I needed sound for a clip within my Keynote presentation. They had one of those mounted overhead projectors all wired up with sound. I reached behind the Windows machine and unplugged the audio and video cables and plugged them into my MacBook. The video came up, but no sound. Beads of sweat formed on my brow as I tried in vain to get sound out of that system. The presentation was set to start in less than 10 minutes and some early birds had already arrived. Read on to find out what I did.
The Audiowrapz from iFrogz is an interesting case, in that it covers two functions most iPod nano owners might be looking for, iPod protection and integrated speakers.
