8-Bit Toast Wood Case for iPhone 6 Plus – Review

At a recent tech industry trade show, I came across the company Toast, and Matias Brecher. I vaguely remembered a Kickstarter campaign from 2012 with the project being a slim wooden case for smartphones. That was Matias Brechers, and the Kickstarter funding was a success. With the amount of tech news I take in on a daily basis, I forgot about Toast. So when I finally saw the wooden case in person at the trade show, the fit and finish, I knew I had to try one.

Crusta Case for iPhone 6 – Review

To case or not to case, that is the question. We love our iPhones but there are two distinct camps when it comes to protecting them versus carrying them around naked. Prior to the iPhone 6, the thick, blockish form factor was easy to grip but the 6 and 6 Plus are sleek, thin, and rounded. They seem almost slippery by comparison. Cases are rapidly appearing to aid those who are concerned about accidental damage.

Commuter Series Case for iPhone 6 – Review

Apple’s iPhone 6 is a beautiful piece of design and function. Thinner than previous iPhone models, larger in size, it just seems to fit one’s hand perfectly. However, that thinness and the iPhones material seem to make it something that does seem to move by itself at times, especially out of the users hand if they forget that they are carrying it around. Add to that the tendency of most people to simply slide it into ones pants pocket and you might have a recipe for messing up ones brand new iPhone.

PhotoProX iPhone 5/5S case with lenses – Review

The PhotoProX is a rugged, waterproof case for the iPhone 5 and 5S that accommodates four included lenses. The case is designed for the outdoors and is built to withstand serious abuse it can even be used for underwater photography. Your iPhone fits into a plastic sled which, in turn, slides into the clear plastic case. The top door, where the phone slides in, has a tight-fitting gasket and a strong latch. There is also a bottom door that permits access to the 3.5mm audio jack, the Lightning charging port, and the phones mic and speaker. This little door snaps shut with effort and is very difficult to open due to the necessary waterproofing gasket.

Commando Screen Protector – Review

Commando is a military grade screen protector. The product consists of a polyurethane film, a durable material developed for military use. The original use was in protecting helicopter rotor blades from abrasive desert sand. The You Tube video demonstrating the ability of an iPhone protected by Commando to withstand the impact of a hammer and scratches from nails is dramatic. A quick review of customer comments revealed many testimonials of how going Commando is the best method to protect an uncased iPhone.

Quirky Crossover iPhone 5 Case – Review

As a rabid fan of wallet cases, I was delighted to review the Quirky Crossover iPhone 5 case.  The case protects the iPhone and allows a few credit or business cards to be stored under the intersecting straps. Quirky offers 12 colors, allowing the buyer to select the color combination for the two straps. The gray and orange straps of my review case were a lovely choice. The top strap has a hole for the camera lens. The bottom strap has a hole for the power button at the top and earbud at the bottom.
