Are We There Yet? – WWDC Perspective 2015

Here we are with another Apple WWDC Keynote under our belts and we are all trying to take in, evaluate and ponder what Apple has shown us. Once again the many keynote speakers took to the stage and zipped (mainly) through a myriad of new services and features that we can all look forward to trying and hopefully enjoying ourselves a little later in the year.

ScreenFlow 5 – Review

Recently I was given the opportunity to review ScreenFlow 5 for MyMac.com, so I jumped at the chance. I had bought a previous version of ScreenFlow in a bundle, then did nothing with it. Now I would have to take some time and learn how to use the application. I’m so glad I did.

Would I still switch from PC to Mac?

The question of whether to switch from a PC to a Mac arises from time to time. I made the move to a Mac in 2007, but the decision would not be as easy today. My only experience with Microsoft software these days is at work, and that doesn’t make it straightforward to compare the Apple world with what a PC has to offer. Why is that?

Jony Ive The Genius Behind Apple – s Greatest Products – Review

Jony Ive The Genius Behind Apples Greatest Products is a handsome, silver and black jacketed, 320 page book that isnt exactly a biography. It covers Sir Jonathan Ives early family life, schooling, higher education, and working life before Apple, as well as the products he is so well known for. It is, I would say, more a study of the mans work history, methods, philosophy, accomplishments, and the challenges behind them. In as much as anyone can study such things relating to an intensely private individual who works at perhaps the most secretive company in the world!

HeartMath Inner Balance Lightning Sensor – Review

I’m hardly the kind of fellow who could be accused of being a new-age sensitive guy. I regularly scoff at anything healthy at the grocery store, looking instead for convenient and comfortable food. I even have a paperweight with an old Mark Twain quote on exercise: Whenever I get the urge, I lay down until it passes. And, Im in the first paragraph and already, Im digressing

Take Control of Upgrading to Mavericks

Although Mavericks (OS 10.9) differs from previous OS upgrades in being free and more readily installed “over” existing systems, users can still benefit from adequate preparation, from planning, from a thorough understanding of Mavericks’ benefits (and possible pitfalls) and from access to a rich set of resources to make the most of it. Experienced Mac author Joe Kissell’s ebook, Take Control of Upgrading to Mavericks, provides all of that – and more.

ATARI Inc, Business is Fun – Book Review

Nolan Bushnell has always been a name that was synonymous with Atari for me. As to Ted Dabney, I didn’t have a clue until reading Atari Inc, Business is fun. There are plenty more individuals, like Nolan and Ted, in the book that played very important and sometimes critical rolls in the the story of Atari.

IK Multimedia Releases iLine Mobile Music Cable Kit – Review

IK Multimedia is releasing a new line of 6 high-quality cables today. Aptly named the iLine Mobile Music Cable Kit, the cables provide musicians and audiophiles with nearly every possible cable to connect your iOS devices to speakers, headphones, stereos, amplifiers, or your vehicle. The Italian-made cables feature a level of craftsmanship seldom met by other manufacturers. IK Multimedia coins the kit as the “Swiss Army Knife” of the cable world.

Where I think Apple is going (seriously)

So here’s where we are. The press going crazy for an Apple product that doesn’t officially exist and tons of articles already saying it’s either the best thing they’ve ever done or a huge mistake with not too much in between. Well no surprise there as you could take the flotsam of Apple articles on any given day over the last ten years and see exactly the same thing. Will there be an iWatch or whatever? I have no idea and honestly (wait for it) iDon’tcare.
