At the risk of being maudlin

Macworld Expo 2009 is over for me. I’ll be heading home today (Thursday) and looking back on a very successful trip. As some of my friends say to me sometimes, “You don’t get out much, do you?”. I’m only too thrilled to have gotten away, if only for a few days, from the daily grind to meet with friends and join with them in a common cause, which, as far as I’m concerned, is to promote friendship, and tell the world about some devices which may serve to advance mankind (hopefully).

I know that I’m merely a speck on a piece of dust when it comes to all there is in the Mac world, or any world for that matter, and I don’t profess to be even remotely interested in most of it. But I stand in awe of those who are.

There are so many relentlessly talented people on the staff at MyMac.com it’s almost mind boggling. And it strikes me that the diversity of talents and interests only goes to make the publication greater than the sum of its parts.

Strong leadership is a must. And it’s something we are blessed with. Thanks Tim for all you do. The world wide web is a better place for your work. But without the people behind you it could never be what it is, and will become, so I solute all of the MyMacers who put in their time, energies, and talents.

The only reason I’m writing this is that because of MyMac, and in spite of myself, I have become not only more knowledgeable to a small degree, but slowly I discover parts of me I didn’t even know existed. I may be slow at responding sometimes, but I know if I keep at it my writing will improve, and I will become, little by little, a better person.

So I take my cap off to all of the MyMac staff. We touch each other in ways that can only be realized after the fact. May we all be blessed with a healthy, productive, and prosperous 2009.
