Are concerts finally coming to the iTunes Store?

I recently blogged about concerts being a glaring omission from the iTunes Store. Well, it seems as if they might be coming.

One of the headlines in today’s iTunes Store homepage is a new live concert from Madonna. You can buy the album, or for $9.99 you can download the video of the concert. Yes, I said the video of the concert!

Now, I’m not a Madonna fan, but I’m happy to see a full length concert in iTunes. I’d pay $9.99 for two hours worth of a concert video.

Is this a sign of more things to come and not a one time thing? Let’s hope so!

Update: Interesting that you can’t actually purchase the album or concert yet. The buttons are faded out (at least as of the time I am writing this).
