Recently, three members in my extended family have bought new Macs (all have been “Switchers”, by the way). I also bought a new iMac this month.
With the purchase of a new Mac you can opt to receive a $100 rebate on select printers. As a teacher I also was eligible, and took advantage of, a $299 rebate on an 8gb iPod Touch. (I am have a ball with the Touch! but that is another blog for another day).
The great thing about these rebates, besides being a rebate, is that you can submit them online at Apple’s website as soon as the order is shipped. No UPC codes or receipts mailed in, you don’t even have to wait until you have the items delivered. The other great thing? No 6-8 weeks for delivery of your check. The check arrives in about 1 week or less!
If you made a purchase in person, you can still submit the rebate at Apple’s website. I haven’t done this, but I assume it is just as easy and quick.
I ordered my iMac, printer, and Touch last week. Everything somehow arrived the next day and my rebates arrived yesterday- less then seven days after ordering!
I hate rebates, and avoid them when I can, but Apple makes rebates easy and something not to avoid. I wish other companies did rebates this way.
