Adobe Tour Tracker Technology

JJ Haedo of team CSC took the sprint stage in today’s Stage One of the Amgen Tour of California. This gives him five stage wins in three years in this event. The stage was notable for the long solo breakaway of Jackson Stewart of the domestic team BMC. Man I’m telling you I would not want to be out and away like that. He was swept up by the peloton at about the 20 mile kite, but got lots of good TV Time for his team.

Geek alert!

I watched the stage on the Adobe Tour Tracker. One of the Adobe guys was interviewed during the race about the Tour Tracker technology. He said that it was developed by a bunch of guys at Adobe who were all over bike racing and wanted a technology to view it. They partnered with CSC, the company that makes the tracking devices in order to make it work.

Two years ago this technology was introduced, but it had a long way to go. There are still some glitches but it’s much improved and pretty exciting to be able to watch a bike race live on your computer, for free. Thanks Adobe guys!
