A Pacemaker For Your Brain?

Source: msnbc.com

Scientists are hopefull of solving a myriad set of problems for some patients who have had brain damage, by using an implanted device similar to a heart pacemaker. They are already used in the medical field to help Parkinson’s disease sufferers. Now psychiatrists want to try it on people who have problems with obsessive thougths.

Please don’t tell my wife about this invention. She will want me to get one to fix my (supposed) innattentivness, and my need to sleep a few hours each day – something that interferes with doing my chores, now that I’m retired.

Of course, this concept could make for some interesting science fiction, right? Imagine a guy who has one of these on trial for a crime. Sounds like a plausible ‘defense’ to me . . . Hmmm. Gotta go. Somethings come up!
