Most people have found that by increasing the size of the disk cache in the Memory control panel, the performance of many of your applications will improve. This is especially true in Web browers like Netscape Navigator. The problem with using this large disk cache is that when you save information, the data may end up staying in the cache for a long time before it really gets written to your hard disk. This is a problem because if your Macintosh crashes before the cache gets saved, your data is lost.

Well, CacheSaver recognizes this problem by periodically saving the disk cache. This minimizes data loss, should your Macintosh crash while you are working. You can set the CacheSaver to “flush” the cache whenever your is Macintosh idles for more than a specific amount of time. Another option is to do it automatically at regular intervals. There is also a hotkey which allows you to flush the cache manually.

I believe that CacheSaver is an excellent program. It provides ease of use along with a handy little control panel that saves you from those nasty crashes that all of us experience. This is a great control panel that is a “YES” for everyone!!!
