Here is another program, this time an extension, that will change the look of your windows. This one changes it to look like the high-tech look from the now defunct Copland. I like the look, but found my computer crashing more often when it was installed.

I also had just the opposite problem with HiTech_WDEF than I did with Techno Windows. This time, I could see the close and resize buttons, but WindowShade did not work. While this may not seem a big deal to some, I use WindowShade all the time and cannot abide not having it work. Thus, I only load this extension when I want to awe someone. 🙂

 

Both these and those on next page show a few of the Mac face-lift programs available. The Aaron [Note: the tilde (~) is not part of the name, just a device to force it to load sooner] extension also comes to mind, and is probably the one which most people already know about. Icons are yet another source of items you may want to download to really customize your Macintosh.

Owning a Mac is great. We can customize each and every one [Note: Avoid using phrases like “each and every one”] of our machines to our own unique personality. Remember, though, that any time you load in an extension you run the risk of crashes. And custom icons can slow you down some, especially if you have too many in your system. But sometimes, when the Mac is becoming old hat, it’s time to put on a new face, and remember how much fun your computer can be to work with. Have fun with your Mac!
