This book replaced Taylor's Creating Cool HTML 4 Web Pages book as my primary HTML reference at home and at the office. It's well worth the 45 dollar price-tag. I can only find fault with the fact that it doesn't have enough chunks of sample HTML and illustrations of how the HTML will render.

NAJA for 3g iPod nano

The NAJA is a soft flexible coil with a bracket at the top to hold your iPod nano. The idea is to use the NAJA to hold your nano rather than hold your nano in your hand. I guess. I’m not really sure? The crux of the problem with the NAJA - it falls over, a lot.

In its latest iteration, the Mac OS comes with a built-in backup program called Time Machine that creates incremental backups on external drives. It is designed to operate in the background with little interaction from the user, and should the need arise to recover lost or damaged files, the Time Machine interface is intuitive and simple to navigate.

I have never been a fan of extended warranties. They always seem to get you in the end. However, the one extended warranty that I do buy and I do believe in is Applecare. Applecare is more than worth the money for any Mac you buy, and for most iPods (for iPods you have to weigh the cost of Applecare vs. the cost of a new iPod). This Macspiration is about Applecare for your Mac and why I am a believer.

I had absolutely no problems in setting up the SlimBlade BT mouse for use with my MacBook. Press the power button that is hidden under the slidable trim and look for the green power indicator on the opposite side to glow solid green for three seconds, then depress the mode switch that is located at the scroll wheel for three seconds and you’re ready to go for regular use as a mouse. The SlimBlade is a full featured laser mouse that just performs two functions, both very well.

iPhone to have 3rd Party Hardware Game Controllers?
iPhone Alley, quoting from Touch Arcade, has an interesting story that could propel the iPhone (and iPod Touch) into the next level of gaming. From the article: "One of the few disadvantages of the iPhone as a gaming device is that it lacks physical buttons, making it difficult in some cases to create games that require them. A hardware solution would solve the problem, letting a user control the game without getting their fingers in the way of the screen."

I keep reading reports that state AT&T is subsidizing the iPhone. As far as I have been able to uncover, there is no official word from either Apple nor AT&T to corroborate that. This rumor has spread far and wide, and the only corroborating evidence of it all comes from one single source: Oppenheimer analyst Yair Reiner.
